Biobarica del Nordeste, a center located in the city of San Francisco de Macorís, made headlines for acquiring the most innovative health technology in the region.

In an interview with the newspaper “El Jaya”, Dr. García explained the mechanism of action of hyperbaric oxygenation therapy (HBOT) and its main benefits in the treatment of pathologies. He also pointed out that the Revitalair 430 hyperbaric chambers are a medical innovation that positively impacts therapies associated with pain control, wound healing, prevention or treatment of infections, and management of tissue hypoxia.

Among the different treatment applications, the use of HBOT during the post-surgical period was highlighted. Thanks to the increase in oxygen, hyperbaric treatment reduces recovery times, improves healing, and reduces inflammation. It is also ideal for patients who have undergone a flap or graft as it prevents ischemia-reperfusion damage.

In wounds with severe pain such as diabetic foot, acute necrotizing infections, or traumatic wounds, hyperbaric oxygen therapy achieves significant analgesia due to its effect on peripheral axonal regeneration, the decrease of nitric oxide synthase and the promotion of autophagy of damaged mitochondria. In addition, it contributes to improving neuropathy and could prevent microangiopathy associated with vascular ulcers.

On the other hand, Dr. Lorenzo Garcia highlighted the innovative technology of the device: "We have the modern hyperbaric chamber Revitalair 430 by Biobarica Hyperbaric Solutions, which allows versatile, accessible, comfortable and safe therapies of high-quality standards and medical supervision. With this, we guarantee that those who require it can receive the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen and the best results." Working at 1.45 atmospheres, the treatment is effective but completely safe at the neurological level as there is no risk of neurotoxicity.  Regarding technical safety, Revitalair hyperbaric chambers have multiple safety systems that act sequentially to prevent any failure or misoperation and both the parts of the chamber and its manufacture are under controlled and certified quality standards.
